Floor Removal Warranty Clarification
The two-year workmanship warranty applies only to covered installation work. It does not create a warranty for demolition conditions or property defects revealed during floor removal.
- Pre-existing subfloor damage
- Structural cracks
- Moisture
- Mold
- Rot
- Water intrusion
- Hidden damage beneath old flooring
- Adhesive left by previous installers
- Mortar or residue from previous work
- Conditions exposed during demolition
- Items left in the work area
- Ordinary demolition dust
- Ordinary demolition noise
- Ordinary vibration
- Additional work declined by the customer
- Repairs performed by another contractor
- Conditions outside the approved removal or installation scope
Floor removal does not create a warranty that the slab, subfloor, structure, walls, plumbing, electrical systems, foundation or surrounding property are free from defects.
Warranty Claim Procedure
Customers must promptly report a suspected warranty problem and provide:
- Customer name
- Project address
- Invoice, estimate or contract number
- Project completion date
- Photographs
- Videos
- Description of the problem
- Date the issue was first observed
- Information about leaks, flooding, moisture, repairs or work performed by others
Ugly Floors must receive a reasonable opportunity to inspect the property before another person removes, repairs, alters, covers or replaces the flooring.
No reimbursement or payment is authorized unless Ugly Floors approved it in writing before the expense was incurred. This includes repair costs, replacement costs, hotel expenses, moving expenses, storage expenses, loss-of-use claims, lost income, third-party contractor costs and unapproved material purchases.
Warranty service does not restart or extend the original two-year warranty period. The warranty applies only to the original customer and the original installation address, and is not transferable unless Ugly Floors agrees in writing.
